Rick Ducommun grew up in a farming family but often clashed with his entrepreneur father. At the age of 14, he left home, hitchhiking across the northern U.S. before returning to Canada at 17. He later married Leslie McNulty on December 31, 1992, and they had three children together.

Career

Ducommun initially found success in stand-up comedy after trying it on a dare at a Vancouver club. He gained further recognition by starring in the children’s TV show ZigZag during the 1980s, where he was known as “Biff.” After moving to Los Angeles, he appeared in various films and TV shows, gradually becoming a well-known comedic actor, particularly after losing significant weight and landing memorable roles.
