Robert Chalmers Simpson, known as Robert Cole, was born on July 23, 1920, in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Navy before transitioning to a career in entertainment, largely influenced by his wife, Marie Elizabeth Carbone, whom he married in 1944. The couple ran a dance studio together and trained many Naval personnel in Key West.

Career

In 1950, Cole and his family relocated to Hollywood, where he pursued acting while continuing his work as a dance instructor. He encouraged his stepson, Robert Fuller, to join the Screen Extras Guild, influencing Fuller’s future success in Hollywood. Cole was known for his versatility, transitioning from dance in musicals to acting in various TV dramas and detective shows.

Robert Cole passed away on May 6, 2003, in Studio City, California.
