Donner became friends with actor Clint Eastwood, who encouraged him to pursue drama due to his humor and stage presence. He appeared in several notable films and TV shows, gaining fame for his character Exidor in “Mork & Mindy.” Donner was also an avid golfer and participated in many charity golf events, showcasing his charisma beyond acting.

Robert Donner passed away on June 8, 2006, from a heart attack in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, California. His body was cremated, and his ashes were given to his wife, Jill Donner.
