Robert Liensol

Robert Liensol was an American actor who is best known for L’exil du roi Behanzin, Target, and Coco la Fleur, candidat. He was born on September 9, 1922, in Saint-Barthélémy, French West Indies, and died on February 13, 2011, in Paris, France.

Personal and Family Life

Robert Liensol founded and managed the “Compagnie des Griots” from 1954 to 1972, which was the first French company of Black actors. His troupe included notable figures such as Darling Légitimus and Théo Légitimus. They performed several important plays, contributing significantly to French theatre.
