Robert Nadir

Robert Nadir was an American actor who is best known for his roles in “Mad Love,” “Jack Reed: Badge of Honor,” and “Northern Exposure.” Born on November 19, 1955, in Jersey City, New Jersey, he enjoyed a career in acting before his untimely passing.

Personal and Family Life

Robert Nadir married Lauren Tewes, known for her role in “The Love Boat,” on May 1, 1996. His father emigrated from Italy and changed the family name from Giannitrapani to Nadir. Robert trained at the Juilliard School, showcasing his dedication to the craft of acting.

Struggles and Diagnosis

In 1997, while performing in a play, Nadir began to experience sudden fatigue. During an audition for a radio commercial, he stumbled over his words to the point where the producer thought he was intoxicated. Sadly, in January 1998, he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Death and Legacy

Robert Nadir passed away on April 25, 2002, in Seattle, Washington, from complications related to ALS. His contributions to theater and television left a mark on the industry, and he is remembered for both his talent and the challenges he faced.
