Roger Herren was born on September 27, 1945, in Baxter, Tennessee, as the eldest of four sons in a family where his father worked as a carpenter and his mother was a homemaker. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was discharged in 1968. As a young boy, he was talented in volleyball and competed at an Olympic level while playing in the International Military League.

Career

Herren’s acting career began in 1969 with an uncredited role in the musical film Paint Your Wagon, which featured Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin. His most notable performance came in 1970 when he co-starred as Rusty Godowsky in the controversial film Myra Breckinridge, alongside stars such as Raquel Welch and Farrah Fawcett. Despite his promising start, his acting career faded following the lack of success of this film.
