Born William Grant Blandin on May 22, 1868, in Riceville, Iowa, Romaine Fielding had a significant career in film as both an actor and director. He was married twice, first to Mabel van Valkenburg, with whom he had a divorce in 1917, and later to Joan Arliss, with whom he had three children. Fielding was also active in the Army Intelligence Department during World War I, serving as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Death and Legacy

Romaine Fielding passed away on December 15, 1927, in Hollywood, California, due to a blood clot stemming from an infected tooth. He was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Glendale in California. His legacy as a talented actor and director remains notable, especially as he was once voted the most popular screen actor by The Motion Picture Story Magazine in 1913.
