Born as Phyllis Rosina Raisbeck on July 28, 1916, in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, she had a rich career as a soprano opera singer before transitioning to acting. Rosina was married to James Laurie from 1943 until their divorce in 1962, and they had one child together. She retired from performing in 1988 and was honored as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 1976 for her contributions to the arts.
