Royana had a passion for acting from a young age, starting her career at 11 in the Broadway show “Brighton Beach Memoirs.” She was known for her work in both theatre and television throughout her life.

Black began her acting career with a notable role in the Broadway production of “Brighton Beach Memoirs.” By the age of 15, she was starring in the CBS series “Raising Miranda,” showcasing her talent alongside Bryan Cranston. After taking a break to earn a degree in Victorian Literature from Yale University, she returned to New York City and founded a non-profit theatre company. Additionally, she served as the Artistic Director for the Alliance Repertory Company in Los Angeles.
