Russell Thaw was born on October 25, 1910, in Berlin, Germany. He was the son of Evelyn Nesbit and Harry K. Thaw. Throughout his life, he was married twice, first to Katherine Emily Roberts Thaw, with whom he had a brief marriage, and then to Barbara Ruth Hall Thaw, with whom he had three children: Michael William, Russell Hall, and Theresa Nesbit.
Death and Legacy
Russell Thaw passed away on May 6, 1984, in Santa Barbara, California. He was laid to rest at McDermott-Crockett Mortuary in Santa Barbara. His contributions to film, especially in the early 20th century, have left a lasting impact on the industry.
