Sadhona Bose came from a prosperous Brahmo family. Her father, Saral Chandra Sen, had three daughters; Sadhona was the second. She married Modhu Bose, a film director, at a young age and became involved with the Calcutta Art Players theatre group. Career
Sadhona started her film career with the successful movie Alibaba in 1937, which established her as a prominent actress. She and her husband moved to Bombay, where they created several acclaimed films, including Kumkum and Rajnartaki. Despite their initial success, their relationship suffered, leading to a challenging personal life for Sadhona.
Death and Legacy
After her husband’s death in 1969, Sadhona faced severe financial difficulties and was forced to beg on the streets. Before her passing in 1973, she briefly found work as a dance trainer but struggled with her declining health and reputation.
