Personal and Family Life
Sandra Spence was born on May 22, 1925, in Olympia, Washington. She was originally named Nettie Jane Fowler. Sandra married Irwin Spence in July 1944, whom she met at a USO dance; they had two children together. After Irwin’s death in January 1958, she married Harlan Howard Meyer in August 1959. Sandra retired from acting in 1957 to open an antique shop and her husband launched a Ford dealership.
Death and Legacy
Sandra Spence passed away on February 13, 1974, due to ovarian cancer in Midlothian, Texas. Her contributions to television and film, particularly in the 1950s, have left a lasting mark. Despite her early retirement, her performances in notable series and films remain cherished by fans of classic cinema.
