Hasso began her acting career as a child extra at The Royal Dramatic Theater, where she was the youngest student to enroll in acting studies. She achieved early success, securing leading roles in films and earning praise from critics. In 1940, she moved to Hollywood and signed with RKO, but later pursued opportunities in New York theater and worked with MGM, appearing in a series of films, particularly enjoying stage performances in London and New York.
