Simon Ward was married to Alexandra Malcolm from January 31, 1964, until his death, and they had three children together, including actress Sophie Ward. Growing up in a family where his father was a car dealer, Ward displayed an early passion for acting and joined the National Youth Theatre at the age of 13. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and began his career in repertory theatre before making a name for himself in film and television.
Career
Ward’s big break in theatre came in 1967 with the play Loot by Joe Orton. He became well-known for his portrayals of significant characters, particularly Winston Churchill in both Young Winston and several Turkey films in the 1990s. In addition to his acting, he was also an Associate Member of RADA.
Death and Legacy
Simon Ward died on July 20, 2012, due to polycythemia. He left behind a legacy of memorable performances in film and television, and he is remembered for his contributions to the acting community. His daughter, Sophie Ward, continues the family tradition in the acting profession.
