Skip Young was an American actor who is best known for The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, One Step Beyond, and Smokey and the Hotwire Gang.

Personal and Family Life

Skip Young was born Ronald Bix Plumstead on March 14, 1930, in San Francisco, California. He was married twice, first to Beverly Ruth Trout from 1959 to 1960, and then to Carol A Whittaker from 1961 until their divorce in 1967. His real last name, Plumstead, was used by producers when they needed a surname for his character Wally on “Ozzie & Harriet.”

Career

Young had a diverse acting career with appearances in various films and television shows. He gained recognition for his roles in classic series and movies, making significant contributions to entertainment during his active years in the industry.

Death and Legacy

Skip Young passed away on March 17, 1993, in Victorville, California, due to a heart attack caused by complications from diabetes. Family members discovered him at home. His legacy lives on in his memorable performances in film and television.
