Spyros Fokas, born Spyridon Androutsopoulos, graduated from Kostis Michalidis drama school and started his acting career in 1959 with the film Bloody Twilight. Throughout his life, he married twice; his last wife was Lilian Panagiotopoulou, whom he married in 2013 and remained with until his passing. Although he did not have biological children, he became a stepfather to his wife’s daughter.

Fokas was recognized for his work in both Greek and international films, often collaborating with famous directors like Luchino Visconti and Vincente Minnelli. His film debut at the Cannes Film Festival paved the way for his roles in various popular films in the 60s, 70s, and beyond, including notable Hollywood productions.
