Born on August 13, 1963, in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, Sridevi grew up in a Tamil and Telugu-speaking family. She had a sister, Srilatha, and a stepbrother, Satish. Sridevi married film producer Boney Kapoor on June 2, 1996, and they had two daughters, Jhanvi and Khushi. Her parents were Rajeswari Yanger and Ayyapan Yanger, with her father passing away in 1991 and her mother in 1997.
