Steve Lawrence, born Sidney Liebowitz on July 8, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, had a close-knit family with two siblings, Victor and Rose Leibowitz. He married fellow performer Eydie Gormé on December 29, 1957, and they had two children together, Michael and David. The couple enjoyed a successful career in show business and were widely admired for their duet performances.

Career

Steve began his career in music at a young age, making his recording debut at 16. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960, where he sang with the Army Band. After his military service, he gained fame on television, in nightclubs, and in Broadway productions. He was a talented songwriter, known for composing several popular songs during his career.
