Steve ‘Grizzly’ Nisbett was born on March 15, 1948, in Nevis, British West Indies. He was a few years older than most of his bandmates when he joined Steel Pulse in 1977, following his experience in several soul bands. As a member of Steel Pulse, he played a significant role in shaping the band’s sound over the years.

Career Highlights

Throughout his time with Steel Pulse, Nisbett showcased his drumming talent on three albums released under Island Records. He eventually transitioned to percussion in 1998, allowing Conrad Kelly to take over the drumming responsibilities. Grizzly was part of the band when they won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 1986. His dedication to music remained strong until his last performance with the band in August 2001.
