Steve Reevis

Steve Reevis was an American actor who is best known for Fargo, Crazy Horse, and Dances with Wolves.

Personal and Family Life

Steve Reevis was born and raised on the Blackfeet Reservation in Browning, Montana. He was the fourth of six children in his family and graduated from Flandreau High School. Afterward, he attended Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence, Kansas, where he earned a degree in arts. He married Macile Reevis, who is also of Native American heritage, and together they had three sons and one daughter.

Career Highlights

Steve struggled at first to start his acting career, living in his car on the beach in Los Angeles before finding steady work. He gained recognition for his supporting roles and received an award from First Americans in the Arts in 1996 for his performances in Fargo and Crazy Horse. He won the same award again in 2004 for his work in the ABC series Line of Fire.
