Sue Ann Gilfillan was born on October 15, 1930, in Barnet, Vermont. She graduated from Wellesley College in 1952 and later from The Yale School of Drama in 1955. In 1963, she married producer Tony Converse, with whom she had two sons, Anthony and Alexander, and four grandchildren. Throughout her career, she was an active member of the theater community, especially at the Williamstown Theater Festival.
Career
Gilfillan was part of the original company at the Williamstown Theater Festival in 1956 and played major roles in productions such as “St. Joan,” “The Matchmaker,” and “Ondine.” After several successful years in theater, she moved to New York City where she appeared in various Off-Broadway plays before relocating to Los Angeles for two decades starting in 1977. She was known for her versatile performances in both film and television.
Death and Legacy
Sue Ann Gilfillan passed away on March 12, 2017, in New York City. Her remains were interred at Woodlawn Cemetery in The Bronx, New York. Remembered for her significant contributions to theater and television, she left behind a lasting legacy through her work and family.
