Suzanne Alexander was an American actor best known for her roles in Cat-Women of the Moon, Princess of the Nile, and Flight Nurse. Born Gwendolynne Ann White in Toronto, Canada, she appeared in numerous films and TV series during the 1950s.
Personal and Family Life
Suzanne was born into a family with a performing background; her father, Will J. White, was a notable Canadian concert entertainer, and her mother was “Miss Canada of 1918.” She had a brother, Will J. White, who also pursued a career in acting. Before entering the film industry, both siblings competed as figure skaters. Suzanne was also a fashion designer in the 1970s, showcasing her talent beyond acting.
Career
Initially, Suzanne had hopes of landing significant film roles, including the character of Princess Aouda in the film Around the World in 80 Days. Unfortunately, after testing for the part, she ultimately did not get the role, which was taken by Shirley MacLaine. After appearing in various films and TV shows, Suzanne’s presence in the entertainment industry began to fade, and she left the spotlight.
Death and Legacy
Tragically, Suzanne Alexander’s life came to a sad end on September 21, 1975, when she jumped to her death from a hotel room in San Francisco. She was only 44 years old at the time of her passing. Her legacy lives on through her film and television appearances and her family’s contributions to the entertainment world.
