Tabassum was married to Vijay Govil, and the couple had one child together. She was the mother of Bollywood actor Hoshang Govil and the sister-in-law of actor Arun Govil. Her family also includes granddaughters Kushi and Karishma Govil.

Career

Tabassum gained fame with the television serial “Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan,” which was the first movie-based TV serial aired by Doordarshan in 1972. This show ran for an impressive 21 years, making her a household name during the 1970s. Over her career, she worked across various media, including film, television, radio, print, and journalism.
