Theodore Newton was born on August 4, 1904, in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. He was married twice; first to Alexandrina “Drina” Hill from 1936 until their divorce in 1944, and then to Emily Lawrence from 1949 until his death in 1963. He had two children from his first marriage. Tragically, his second son, Christopher, passed away at just six months old in 1940.
Death and Legacy
Newton passed away on February 28, 1963, in Hollywood, California, due to cancer. He is remembered for his contributions to both Broadway and film, with a career that spanned several decades. His work continues to be appreciated by fans of classic cinema.
