Starting her career by singing for spare change, Timothea performed with notable artists such as Dr. John and Ernie K. Doe by the time she was twelve. After a break from music for fifteen years, she returned in 1981 and found success in New Orleans, where she was well-received in clubs and coffeehouses, particularly known for her powerful voice and engaging performances.
