Personal and Family Life

Tom Beard was born on April 25, 1965, in Lambeth, London, to Charles, a surgeon, and Trish, a flautist. He had a brother named Alex, who later became the Chief Executive of the Royal Opera House. Tom was a sports enthusiast, performing well in cricket and football during his school years. He graduated from the University of Sussex, where he was actively involved in the drama society, and later trained at the Webber Douglas Acting School.

Career

Beard’s acting career began with a role as Laertes in Peter Hall’s 1994 production of ‘Hamlet.’ He appeared in many productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company and made guest appearances on popular television dramas such as Poirot and Midsomer Murders. Apart from acting, he was also passionate about gardening and angling and supported Chelsea FC.

Death and Legacy

Tom Beard was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2015 and passed away on July 20, 2015, in the UK. He is remembered for his contributions to theater and television and left behind his wife, Polly, and their two children, Ella and Joe. His legacy continues through his work, which resonates with audiences even after his passing.
