Tom Patricola was an American actor and dancer who is best known for his roles in “Louisiana Purchase,” “Rhapsody in Blue,” and his time as a leading comic in “George White’s Scandals.”

Born as Tommaso Patricolo on January 22, 1891, in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was the son of Luigi Patricolo and Cattarina D’Angelo. Tom was married twice, first to Ruby Myers from 1917 until her death in 1920, and later to Dorothy Cully from June 1, 1938, until his own death in 1950. His sister, Isabella, was a renowned singer and violinist in vaudeville.
Career
Tom Patricola was an accomplished comic performer, particularly known for his energetic performances in dance. He became a major presence in vaudeville during the 1920s and later transitioned to film, signing a contract with Fox. Although he appeared in a number of films, many were minor roles or short comedies, and his more significant film appearances came when he was older.
Death and Legacy
Tom Patricola passed away on January 1, 1950, in Pasadena, California, following complications from brain surgery. Despite a film career that was not as prolific as his vaudeville work, he is remembered for his vibrant performances and contributions to early American entertainment.
