Tom Waring

Tom Waring was an American composer, songwriter, author, and musician. He is best known for his work in music and as a pianist and singer in the orchestra led by his brother Fred Waring.

Born Thomas Lincoln Waring on February 12, 1902, in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, he was educated at Penn State University. Tom was not only a talented musician but also a soloist in both the Cumberland MD Glee Club and the Penn State Glee Club. He had a close relationship with his brother, Fred, who influenced his musical journey.

Career

Tom Waring joined the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) in 1935. His popular songs include “So Beats My Heart for You,” “Way Back Home,” and “Countin’ My Blessings,” showcasing his talent in songwriting. He also performed on radio, in films, and at concerts throughout his career.
