Troy Hoskins

Troy Hoskins was an American actor who is best known for A Bullet for Pretty Boy, The Seniors, and The Judge. He was born on March 30, 1912, in Marlow, Oklahoma, and passed away on April 6, 1978, in Dallas, Texas.

Personal and Family Life

Troy Hoskins was married twice, first to Janice Akens, with whom he had five children, and later to Dollie Dean Duston, with whom he had three children. His children, Robert, Roger, and Jane, are believed to reside in Oklahoma. In the early 1970s, he was featured alongside his daughter Lynley in a Dairy Queen commercial, where he was affectionately known as “Grandpa.” Lynley is currently working on an autobiography based on Troy’s writings.

Career

Before becoming an actor, Troy had a successful career as a professional ice skater, where he notably performed for Adolph Hitler during two command performances. He also participated in USO tours alongside comedian Bob Hope. Troy Hoskins was featured in several productions, showcasing his talents both in film and on stage.

Death and Legacy

Troy Hoskins died from lung cancer on April 6, 1978. His contributions to film and his family’s enduring legacy continue to be remembered, especially through the efforts of his daughter Lynley, who seeks to honor his memory through her writing.
