Valentine Palmer was born on July 24, 1935, in London, England. He had a diverse career as an opera singer before transitioning to acting, and he even led his own jazz band after leaving school. His notable family connection includes Charles Herbert Lightoller, the most senior officer to survive the Titanic sinking, about whom Palmer wrote a book. Palmer also served as a voice coach starting in 2000, helping clients across ten different countries enhance their spoken English skills.

Career

After winning a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), he left the program early to pursue a career in cabaret. Palmer became the Chairman at the Players Victorian Music Hall in Charing Cross, London, and later ran a theatre in Mallorca after filming “Doctor Who.” Notably, he did not see his own performance on “Doctor Who” until a fan sent him a remastered DVD several years later. His book on the Titanic includes insights into his great uncle’s experiences and suggests possible conspiracies surrounding the disaster.
