Vera Sisson was born on July 31, 1891, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was educated at the Brownlee Collegiate School for Girls in Denver, Colorado. At the age of twenty-one, she began her film career by applying for extra work at Universal Studios, where she made her debut in 1913. In 1916, she married director Richard Rosson, and they settled in a home in Pacific Palisades. The couple did not have any children.

Although she primarily took on supporting roles throughout her career, she aspired to have her own studio. She eventually stepped back from acting to focus on her marriage. Death and Legacy
Vera’s life took a tragic turn when her husband Richard died by suicide on May 31, 1953. This event deeply affected her mental health, leading to her own struggles with depression. On August 6, 1954, Vera Sisson took her own life by overdosing on barbiturates at the age of sixty-three. She was laid to rest at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.
