Victor Borge was born as Børge Rosenbaum on January 3, 1909, in Copenhagen, Denmark. He married Elsie Chilton in 1933 but divorced her in 1953. Later, he married Sarabel Sanna Scraper in 1953, and they remained together until her death in 2000. Borge had five children from his two marriages.

Borge began his music career at a young age, studying at the Conservatory of Copenhagen and performing from 1922 onward. He emigrated to the United States in 1940, launching a successful radio career with Bing Crosby.
