Wendy Drew was born as Barbara Leavitt on May 8, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of Philip Leavitt and Shirley Weissman. Wendy had a close relationship with her family, including her half-sibling Allegra Kent. In September 1960, she married Ken Heyman, with whom she had five children before their divorce in 1983.
