Personal and Family Life
Willard Scott was married twice, first to Mary Ellen Dwyer from 1959 until her death in 2002. They had two children: Mary Phillips Scott and Sally Woodruff Scott. Later, he married Paris Maguire Keena in 2014, remaining together until his death.
Death and Legacy
Willard Scott died from natural causes on September 4, 2021. He was well-known for his distinctive gravelly voice and his signature catchphrase, “Never slap a man who chews tobacco.” His contributions to early television as a clown will be remembered by many.
