He was married twice; first to Scarlett Marghuereta Wendelle from 1956 until their divorce in 1962, and then to Mae Louise Allen, who he married in 1971 and remained with until her death in 2013. Mays had one son, Michael Rosiny Mays, and was very close to his family throughout his life.
