Before becoming an actor, he worked at an automobile plant in Warsaw, where his talent caught the eye of theater director Jerzy Tkaczyk. Encouraged by Tkaczyk, he pursued a career in acting and graduated from the PWST acting school in Warsaw. Wojciech Pokora became widely recognized for his comedic roles but spent years trying to break free from being labeled solely as a comedian. He received the Golden Cross of Merit in 1978 for his contributions to the arts.
