Zia Mohyeddin grew up in Karachi, Pakistan. His father, Khadim Mohyeddin, was a notable mathematician and musicologist. Zia was married three times and had four children. His first marriage was to Naheed Siddiqui, with whom he had a son, Hassan Mohyeddin. He then married Sarwar Zamani, with whom he had two children, before marrying Azra Mohyeddin in the 1990s, welcoming a daughter later in life.

Career

After training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, Zia gained recognition in theater before transitioning to film and television. He made a significant impact in films, especially for his role in “Lawrence of Arabia,” which opened many doors for him in the British film industry. He was also a prominent television personality in Pakistan during the late 1960s and early 1970s, known for his critical views on the political situation at the time.

Zia Mohyeddin passed away on February 13, 2023, in Karachi, Pakistan, due to natural causes.
