Born on February 17, 1945, in New York City, Zina was the daughter of Ivy Bethune, an established actress, and William Charles Bethune. Zina had formal dance training from the age of six and was a student at George Balanchine’s School of American Ballet. She was diagnosed with several health issues, including scoliosis, but overcame these challenges to perform professionally in dance and acting. Zina was married to Sean Feeley from December 27, 1970, until her passing in 2012.

Zina began her acting career in the late 1950s and appeared in many daytime television dramas. She played notable roles, including the first “Robin Lang” on “Guiding Light” and starred in various popular series like “Emergency!” and “Gunsmoke.” In addition to television, Zina made her film debut in “Sunrise at Campobello” and gained recognition for her role in Martin Scorsese’s film “Who’s That Knocking at My Door.” Beyond acting, she was a talented dancer, choreographer, and teacher, founding the Bethune Theatredanse in 1980 to promote dance for those with disabilities.
